Hello folks

Has anyone had an issue with the door handles on the #1?

My passenger side opens up but it rarely closes on its own. I have to push it in to close it

I’ve cleaned that side as much as I can underneath the handle itself but it’s not made much difference.

Any ideas?

Really don’t want to take it back to the dealership for a 3rd time.

HI
Ours does it aswell , either flick it outwards while its open or spray it with some WD40 , worked for us . From what I can see it opens too far then wont go back in , so flicking it when its open springs it back where it should be if you see what I mean .

There have been issues with some of the early cars around door handles not retracting. Mine (Sept 2023 car) had revised parts fitted to the passenger door handle during last winter. At the time, the suggestion was that there were issues with some Bowden cables supplied to Smart.

Yes the same here it always opens, but rarely goes back on its own.

I had a warning on the dash screen advising to see dealer. I did this and the door handle is being replaced under warranty. Better than fiddling myself.
