This problem is continuing for my Smart#1 - a warning chime sounds every 1 second while driving above 5mph, which makes any trip longer than 5 minutes unbearable. Even with the radio on.
So I have been in touch with Smart Hertford (who supplied the car last October). 3 weeks ago they said they would order a new sensor. But it's not available in Germany, and on "back-order". Today they told me estimated delivery is October!
I told them this was unacceptable in a new car that is in production. The factory must have supplies of these parts to build new cars.
I have suggested that they dismantle the charge flap to check the wiring for a loose connection, as at first it seemed intermittent and started and stopped as the car was driven. Now it's nearly always on.
HAs anyone else had this problem?
