Since the recent software update the navigation system on my car deletes all the history, including any location set as 'Home', every time I stop and shut the car. Next time I unlock it, it is as though I am using the navigation system for the first time.
I have taken this up with Smart, and at their request I have just had it looked at by the dealer. No cure available,

Navigation system
Yes, have exactly the same problem since a software updated (I think early May). Was thinking of re-initializing the car software system to see if this would fix it. Very annoying as it wipes out your history and home address every time.
UPDATE: It turns out this wasn’t due to a software update. I went to the dealer and they reset the system, but the problem didn’t go away. It tuns out to be due to a “feature” - in the car, you can connect your car to your smart.com/mobile Smart app account (when you click on the profiles icon top right on the screen). Doing this displays a QR code you can use on the Smart mobile app (under your profile icon (bottom right)—“In-vehicle Display Log In”). This means you can now rename the profiles, and the car now stores your personal information (history, home, etc.).
I had done this when I first got the car but for some reason, this “connection” went away—so the car wiped out my personal data every time it stopped. Re-connecting the account via the mobile app solved the issue.

I had the profile resetting thing last week, first thing I noticed was the seat was all in the wrong position. I noticed my name was no longer in the profile, just did the QR code thing and it all came back. I had updated lots of APPs on my phone and wondered if that changed the APP KEY so the vehicle divorced itself.
Hello Rob
navigation system - yes I am seeing the same issues for several weeks now. Asks for permissions every time it starts up and forgets the Home location.
Very irritating.
I am also having Carplay navigation problems with the screen freezing while in turn-by-turn. Seems to happens randomly - started last week.

Yes same problem but cured by relinking to app (tedious). But has anyone else had the following bug, that I see on practically every journey:
1.window showing next junction/roundabout freezes, but system still shows route and map updates as car moves.
2.system says “now turn left” repeatedly repeatedly until route is cancelled
Both bugs reported to smart, no satisfactory reply

Yep, all these same problems.
Profile fix does not work for me.
Car back with dealer for 12 weeks now waiting for new 'GPS Electronics' ( on 8-10 weeks delivery).
I have very little confidence in them fixing this.
This feels like a software problem, but they don't seem to have clue how to tackle it.

I've had similar problems losing the profile after an update, but cured by repeating the process of linking to the app.
I've seen another two software bugs with the navigation system itself, both of which I've reported with video evidence to Smart. (No cure offered of course).
1. Sometimes the navigation system gets into a semi-frozen state where the routing function continues, and the route still show on the map, but the little window showing the next junction stays static after you pass the junction. Only cured by ending the route and entering it again. This happens on most longish journeys.
2. Sometimes on exiting a roundabout the voice says 'now turn left' repeatedly, apparently for ever. Again only cured by restarting the route. This too happens fairly often.
Have anyone else seen these?
