Are blue #1s rare? I’ve just bought one 14 months old. Premium. Collect it in 6 days time.
I’ve bought this car despite having never seen one on the road during the last couple of months since I became interested in this model. Some great reviews and some saying too quirky. But I liked it. Have I been reckless? Are they selling badly?

I've had my #1 Premium since September 2023 and I like it very much. The various over the air updates since I bought it have improved it greatly. I suggest that you spend time to look through the online manual and some time sitting in the car working through the infotainment system. Key things to address are:
Make sure that the car has the latest software version;
Make sure that you register the car with the Hello Smart app;
Be sure to save your settings into your profile in the car (this retains your seat, mirror and HUD settings);
Set up your Drive Setup button (this tailors your ADAS choices).
Above all, take it for a drive and, just occasionally, floor the throttle in Sport mode and have a little giggle. Just be sure to that when the car is in a straight line!
They aren't big sellers, possibly because people are getting used to what the new Smart brand is about (the recent launch of the #5 might change that going forward) and because the dealers are few and far between at the big regional hubs. Personally, I like the exclusivity and the fact that most people don't know what the car is.
Also, when you collect the car, make sure that the front door handles are operating properly and confirm that the recent seat belt recall work has been done (that is just the fitment of a small plastic collar on the middle seatbelt buckle to remove any possibility of it accidently opening the left rear passenger seat belt buckle).

Thanks for those tips, Stephen. Really useful. Can’t wait to pick it up later this week.

You were dead right about the seatbelt buckle recall @StephenA.
Just a few hours before pickup time today, a recall popped up during the final workshop checks. It was the centre-rear seatbelt mod. So it will be taken to a local Merc dealer and that’s delayed my collection until mid next week.
When did that recall begin to be propagated?
Bit of a bummer. Still, gives me more time to read the manual, I suppose.
