smart sees the advanced technologies in the car as enablers for an authentic and worry-free electric mobility experience. The smart #1 launch specification provides a 200kW peak performance and will be capable of AC charging from 10-80 % with 22kW in 3 hours. With DC super-fast charging this can be accomplished in under 30 minutes.
Power is stored in a 66kWh nickel-manganese-cobalt battery that's good for a maximum range of 273 miles, while 150kW rapid-charging capacity means a 10-80% top-up can be completed in less than half an hour.
Smart #1 Power and Charging
I have heard that Tesla have opened up their rapid charges for anyone to use so I downloaded the app, gave them my payment details and gave it ago. Didn’t seem to like my smart car. Has anybody else had success with Tesla rapid chargers
The connector looked the same, but the smart car said the cable was the wrong type. Oh well, Instavolt it is
Update. Big trip this weekend Chichester to Blackpool Found the ABRP planner very useful, loved the status of the chargers displayed in the CarPlay app map. Stopped at 2 Tesla locations and only one worked for me. At first I thought it was my bank details or some other issues. But for some reason that particular type of charge it doesn’t seem to want to work with the #1
Worked perfect Didn’t really work

I tend to use our Zappi charger to control the charging schedule. I have recently tried to use the car's scheduling but there is an issue with the #1 and Zappi chargers around the pilot test. This especially seemed to be a problem when I used the car's scheduling as the charger wanted to do the pilot test but kept getting a bad result so constantly reported a fault. Using the Zappi scheduling, the Zappi usually sorts out the pilot issue within a couple of minutes of beginning to charge. I might try the car schedule function again and see what happens if I leave the car to charge overnight.
