Hi. I just took delivery of a 73 plate #1. I'm having a problem in that many of the options I set get reset back to default each time I drive the car. Specifically these ones:

- Cruise control type (I set to Adaptive Cruise, it resets to Pilot Assist).
- Lane Assist (I turn off, it turns back on).
- Regen level (I set to Low, it resets to Medium).
- Drive mode (I set to Sport, it resets to Comfort).
- Startup screen (I want navigation, it resets to Home).
- Trip display (I set to Trip, it resets to Media).
- Sunroof blind (I want it left open, it closes it).

Is this normal? I've setup a Smart profile and it's all linked to the car and the app, but that doesn't seemed to of helped. The car is also linked to my home Wi-Fi. I'd really appreciate knowing what other cars do.

I've also had a few other problems:

- I've linked my phone to the car, but every other trip it refuses to connect to the car.
- When Android Auto is in use, the temperature controls are not visible.
- I've had the indicator sound stop working a few times. Works again on the next drive.
- The in-car manual always fails with a network error.

Again, appreciate knowing if anyone has experienced the same, or indeed has a fix?

Hello there.

All but the last of your first block of issues are standard. The vehicle resets to the 'standard' setting each time. Some of the safety features are required to reset by regulation, whilst things like the drive mode and regen are set to revert by the car's systems as determined by Smart. In terms of the roof blind, there is a vehicle setting that automatically closes the blind when the car is locked. This can be switched off.

In terms of the other issues, I occasionally have issues with phone connection. Clicking on the phone icon at the top of the screen allows me to reconnect my phone with one click. If you are on the Android Auto screen, you cannot see the climate controls. You can return to the Smart's own interface by selecting the 'Smart' icon in the AA apps screen l, or use voice control ('Hello Smart') to control temperature or fan speed or aircon.

The indicator sound will disappear if another alert is sounding, but will return once that alert has stopped.

I generally don't access the manual in the car so can't add anything on that one.

I hope that some of this helps.

Thanks for that response. I've had four EVs and none of them were like this. One or two kept the Lane Assist on, but it was always easy to turn off. If this is standard on the Smart, I think it's going back! I can't be doing with setting 6+ parameters every time I drive.

Actually, thinking about it, whilst I don't yet have low brake regen (not got the latest update yet), mine is set to strong and it stays there without resetting to medium.

Have you saved your settings to your driver profile in the car (not just the app)? I imagine that you have but thought it worth mentioning. It might mean that some of the settings remain

I only have the speed warnings switched off. I can deal with all of the other driver assist settings

Hi. How do I save settings to my driver profile? I just adjust the settings and assume it saves my choices somewhere. Do I have to explicitly save them? If so, how? I have a profile setup and it's definitely that profile which is enabled.

On the question of accessing the climate controls when in Android Auto, you can just swipe up from the bottom of the screen.

This video explains the Profiles, in case you haven't done that yet.

Although it isn't exactly clear what saves to your profile and what doesn't. It would be nice if we could get a list of those settings that do save.

I see that the latest OTA update includes the ability to save your own preferences for the advanced driver assistance and other settings, removing the need to make changes for each journey.
