Navigating using CarPlay

When navigating using Apple Maps (or Google maps) through CarPlay, do the navigation prompts get sent through to the driver instrument cluster and head up display in the same way that they do when using the built in navigation?

No, they do not.

Thanks. That’s a shame. I guess most people use the car’s navigation anyway but if they are going to offer CarPlay it’s a shame that the navigation using Apple Maps isn’t fully integrated.

I use Waze via Android Auto from my Samsung mobile, and the direction prompts do appear in the HUD.

Sounds as though it works with Android Auto but not Apple CarPlay then (yet). Thanks.
