Wrong GPS location in CarPlay

Hi all, not sure if anyone can help or has had a similar issue. I’ve just upgraded my iPhone and paired it to the car. However, when using CarPlay google maps or Apple Maps it thinks I’m in central London (I live in Wales). The moment I switch off the car or disconnect the phone, Google and Apple Maps show the correct location on my phone. The car’s inbuilt navigation system always shows the correct location and works fine. However I prefer using Google Maps for the traffic updates, but the moment CarPlay is activated my location moves 100 miles. Any ideas?
Yes this has been my biggest gripe with the car. Well one of them. The inbuilt navigation system is a total load of shit and is wildly inaccurate and has taken me down two roads in London that have got me bus lane fines!!
We have managed to find a fix. I think. You need to turn off Bluetooth and then also manually disconnect any phones that might connect to the car wirelessly (you can do this on the smart by clicking the B for Bluetooth thing top right). You then can use google maps / Waze etc via the usb connection NOT using it wirelessly.
It’s a faff, but from what I can see the smart uses Bluetooth and also WiFi connection when connected wirelessly and that throws off the positioning.
Things I can’t stand and will welcome any help on:
- front camera limited. Keeps on binging and annoying me
- driver fatigue monitor when I’m not tired or when the monitor is set off by the pillars on the steering wheel - this is enough to make me want to burn the car
Help pls!

Many thanks for the recommendation on a potential fix. This GPS issue has plagued us for a while, too. As you said, it seems on longer drives, 40 minutes or so.
We can be driving along the M25, and then on Apple Carplay with Google Maps, it places the car off in a field. The car seems to get stuck on the field, and nothing seems to position us back on the M25. I've found Smart's in-car navigation rubbish, and I can't rely on its directions at all, so I really want to fix Google Maps.
I also get the driver fatigue issue and the little coffee cup after about 30 minutes of driving.
I also get the message saying something is wrong with the camera...
It sounds like we all get the same issues.
The last thing that really frustrates me is how long it takes to 'turn on' when you first unlock the car. We have a very short drive in the family, and I hope the screen doesn't switch on quickly enough to choose my profile. I must keep the door open, or it squished me against the steering wheel. I've found a workaround. I just touch the controls, and it stops moving me forward. Then you have to sit there and wait for the software to fire up.
Let's hope we get a software update the fixes some of the above.

Thanks Alexmken, I managed to get it working using the lead too. As you say though, it’s annoying to have to do but a fix at least.
